Dear French Paper Customer,
We’ve been working behind the scenes for well over a year to bring you a brand new website. Rather than modifying our old site, we started from scratch and reinvented the entire structure. We wanted to shed some light on the reasoning behind all the new things you’ve experienced on our new site.
Design: The first change you probably saw was our brand new design by the folks at CSA Design. The site is now fully scalable and mobile friendly, so you can enter orders on the fly with ease.
Verbiage: We did our best to include verbiage that will make sense to folks of all experience levels. You’ll see more terms like “paper” and “card stock” along with the traditional “text” and “cover”.
Shipping: We had a bunch of meetings with our friends at UPS and did as much smooth talking as we could to get our shipping rates lowered. You should see much improved rates across all service levels, and even some free freight categories.
Pricing: Having a site since 1997 has meant that we have grown along with the internet and its capabilities. Our price structure up until this new site was based on what was possible from almost 15 years ago. Most items had to share costs, and often things that didn’t fit with others simply were mis-priced. Combined with the fact that we haven’t increased our pricing in roughly a decade despite several raw material increases, we knew it was time to start over. We worked up a true price for every SKU based on our real costs including dyes, fiber, labor, etc. At the end of the day, some items went down, some went up, and some stayed about the same. Regardless of the item, we did everything we could to keep your pricing fair.
Distributor Locator: We created an improved interactive Distributor Locator to help connect you with our merchant partners that support French Paper in your back yard.
We hope you enjoy the new frenchpaper.com and we can’t wait to do business with you all going forward.
When we decided to hit the road with our Road to 150 Tour we knew that we had to bring along some wild posters and our friends at CSA Design had us covered. Inspired by the Pontiac Firebird and the hood of our Transit Connect these posters will be available at all of our Road to 150 stops. If you want to bring the tour to your town. head over to TheRoadto150.com and submit a contact form.

Way back in 1989 we teamed up with Adobe and CSA Images to create a poster announcing the introduction of Adobe Illustrator. Nearly three decades later, with Adobe MAX approaching, the three of us joined forces again. This time, we took it a step further and created not only an Illustrator poster, but also a Photoshop version. Stop and see us at our MAX booth, and be sure to sign up for Charles S. Anderson’s talk so you can hear more about the creation of these amazing posters.

French Paper Company and CSA Design were honored to collaborate with Artist/Illustrator/Designer David Plunkert on a small artist book promotion David Plunkert Posters On French Paper.
This collection of 36 posters is selected from a 15-year labor of love by David Plunkert for Theatre Project, a pioneering experimental Baltimore theater company. Mr. Plunkert’s expressive imagery for the theater always hits its mark, whether promoting classical Greek dramas or contemporary dance exhibitions. The posters themselves are timeless examples of one artist’s mastery of illustration, type design, and printing. Each year he creates at least four posters for the series and adopts stylistic direction different from the previous years. This book includes nine series of four posters paired with papers and techniques that best reflect Plunkert’s diversity.
David Plunkert Posters On French Paper is printed by Franklin Press on six different French Paper stocks: Kraft-Tone Manilla Yellow and Ledger Green, Speckletone Kraft, Pop-Tone Whip Cream and Tangy Orange, and Dur-O-Tone Newsprint White. The book also incorporates the unusual collation of French folds, perforations, and an exposed perfect bound glue-edge stitched inside a wrap-around cover. The result is a small impactful paper art object with pages that can also be removed and shared as postcards or decorations.
